Modern Foreign Languages
Ignite TSA work in partnership with Primary Languages Network
We have a range of CPD events across the year and Ignite schools are able to access the Primary Languages Network VLE for a massively reduced cost as part of membership.
Ignite schools are able to access our MFL professional learning network for free. There are 3 sessions across the year and all take place at St Bernard’s RC Primary – A Voluntary Academy.
**Please note that due to distancing measures, session 1 may need to take place virtually
Session 1: Thursday 12th November 1:30 – 3:00pm
Session 2: Thursday 4th March 1:30 – 3:00pm
Session 3: Thursday 17th June 1:30 – 3:00pm
Please note that when you you make a booking, it is for all 3 sessions and you will be required to provide the name and direct email address of the delegate attending
- To provide a professional networking opportunity for Ignite TSA schools who use the Primary Languages Network VLE and resources.
- To develop and enhance the delivery of primary languages in individual schools.
- To explore creative links across the whole school curriculum with a specific focus on “Conservation” and “Adrift”
The three network meetings per year will be delivered by Janet Lloyd/Will Lloyd and Susanne Wilson
Each session will consist of:
Update and networking time: to offer teachers the chance to look in more depth at how the materials and resources on the VLE can strengthen the development of primary languages in individual schools and meet the requirements of the DFE KS2 MFL POS.
Review and reflect on practice time: an opportunity to further upskill in core target language, grammar, pedagogy and excellent primary practice to ensure delivery of effective primary foreign language learning back in school.
Ignite TSA focus time: hands on workshops on specific activities and resources to introduce and develop creative primary language learning around the Ignite TSA themes of “Conservation” and “Adrift” (Materials have already been created by PLN for this purpose).
