Please note that your booking covers all 3 sessions and that will be required to provide the name and direct email address of the delegates attending when you make a booking so that information and reminders can be sent out before each session. All sessions will take place at Wolverham Primary School

Session 1: Thursday 28th November 1:15 – 4:15pm
What does effective progression in the teaching of reading skills look like?
Delegates will be guided through clear sequencing of reading skills for their year group.
Shared reading to be exemplified and planning shared.
Live modelling of guided reading with pupils from Wolverham Primary
Gap task to be shared.
Outcomes:
– Understanding of effective progression in the teaching of reading
– Opportunity to discuss a live teaching session: shared reading
– Planning structures for shared reading to be in place
– Clarity and confidence with making judgements against reading standards
– Ways to enhance attainment across KS2
Session 2: Thursday 5th March 2020 1:15 – 4:15pm
What progress have the pupils made? Digging deeper with national standards: Y6 SATs.
Shared reading video evidence to be discussed. Gap task to be shared.
Outcomes:
– Understanding of effective progression in the teaching of reading
Session 3: Wednesday 24th June 2020 1:15 – 4:15pm
Moderation of reading
– Share effective approaches to the moderation of reading.
– Ensure clarity around reading assessment using evidence from pupils in own classes. This will be modelled using pupils work
Outcomes:
– Clarity and confidence with making judgements against reading standards
– Ways to enhance attainment across KS2
