TA workshop – Effective reading approaches for EYFS and KS1

Teaching Assistants will be taken through each of the phases of phonics and consider best approaches to apply phonic knowledge into reading and writing. Progression in reading skills will be clarified and effective strategies for assessing reading will be shared, including use of running records (Benchmarking).

Outcomes include:

Confidence with phonics progression through each of the phases

Greater fluency with use and analysis of reading assessments
