Session overview: Moderation of pupils’ writing at each standard.

Teachers will develop the skills to explain why a pupil is working at one standard and not at the following standard. Teachers will choose one pupil at each standard (WTS, EXS, GDS) to track over the year. Their progress will be considered at future moderation sessions. Moderators will validate judgements.

After moderation, teachers will be guided through effective strategies to ensure progression in skills and knowledge is accumulatively being applied by pupils. Pupils working at the higher standard in each year group will be considered and strategies to enhance their development shared.

– Clear understanding of the year group curriculum and how to provide opportunities for greater depth pupils

– Clarity around effective approaches to cross curricular themes and links

– Confidence with effective moderation of writing at each standard

– Clear next teaching steps for each year standard

When you make a booking, you will be required to choose which year group slots you would like to attend as well as providing the name and direct email address of the delegate(s) attending. Please ensure that this information is accurate as there may be pre and post moderation session correspondence with the consultants leading the training.
