Ignite English Subject Leaders (3 sessions)

Session 1: Thursday 10th October 2:30 – 4:30pm

Session 2: Tuesday 4th February 2:30 – 4:30pm

Session 3: Thursday 18th June 2:30 – 4:30pm

Delving deeper with English subject leadership: Building on from CWaC training, subject leaders will be guided through key development areas over the year:

1. Collaborative monitoring support-joint scrutiny and joint observation timetable to be agreed

2. Lesson study model across schools- writing and reading focus

3. Vocabulary development across schools in the Ignite partnership: analysis, intent, implementation and impact

4. Ensuring effective English curriculum links with the wider primary curriculum e.g. chronology in history linked to quality text and/or English skills

5. Creation of Ignite SL guidance toolkits

Outcomes:

– Good understanding of effective monitoring for each subject leader

– Clarity on the new Ofsted framework and how to ensure school is Ofsted ready- including systematic vocabulary development from EYFS to Y6

– Effective coaching in place across school Ensuring systematic links across the whole primary curriculum

– Completed Ignite SL toolkit
