Teaching Very Young Scientists: Enhancing Scientific Learning in EYFS
Young children are natural scientists and we need to foster their sense of curiosity by providing them with interesting and exciting science lessons that engage and stimulate a sense of wonder. This course aims to provide ideas and activities that can be used in early years setting to develop an understanding of the world. It will be a hands on session with plenty of practical advice for delivering a rich early years provision and guidance on assessing this.
Participants will be able to:
- Understand the changes to the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum for science
- Know how to gather manageable evidence for the assessment of EYFS children
- Provide stimulating and exciting activities to cover the science element of early years provision
