Join Debbie Eccles from Primarily Science for 3 subject leader sessions across the year.

Please note that this booking is for all 3 sessions across the academic year. When the booking is made you will be required to provide the name of your science subject leader attending and their direct email address. This is so any important information or reminders can be communicated before the sessions take place.

All science subject leader sessions will be held at Wolverham Primary School, Ellesmere Port.

Session 1 – Tuesday 16th October 1:15 – 5:00pm

Subject leaders will be supported in whole school planning and assessment of Science. A wide variety of practical scientific ideas / lessons ideas will be gained. The government are looking to update the assessment of science and have already begun to carry out research into curriculum problems. Keep up-to-date with the very latest government changes especially in assessment, monitoring and curriculum design as well as Ofsted’s focus on Primary Science.

Session 2 – Tuesday 22nd January 1:15 – 5:00pm

This session examines how to ensure assessment judgements are accurate, what evidence to use in making these judgements and how to record progress. During the day we will identify best practice, dispel common myths and examine the uses of a host of ideas, activities and materials to help make judgements about attainment in primary science.

Session 3 – Tuesday 21st May 1:15 – 5:00pm

Understanding the nature, processes and methods of science through the biology, chemistry and physics element is a key part of the science Primary curriculum This course examines how to ensure progress in the essential skills required for each key stage by placing the working scientifically element at the heart of the science curriculum. A hands-on, practical course that is full of inspiring ideas for all types of enquiry.
