Day 1 – An Introduction to the SCERTS model
Day 2 – Program planning and Assessment
This is a two day introductory course suitable for SENCO’s, Teachers working with pupils with Autism, Educational Psychologists and Speech and Language Therapists, Local Authority commissioners and Schools Leaders looking to improve outcomes for children with Autistic Spectrum Conditions.
The SCERTS model 
is a research-based educational approach and multidisciplinary framework that directly addresses the core challenges faced by children and persons with ASD and related disabilities, and their families. SCERTS focuses on building competence in Social Communication, Emotional Regulation and Transactional Support as the highest priorities that must be addressed in any program, and is applicable for individuals with a wide range of abilities and ages across home, school and community settings.
Emily R
ubin is the Educational Outreach Specialist at the Marcus Autisim Center in Atlanta, Georgia an affiliate ofEmory University and and NIH Autism Center of Excellence. She is a speech-language pathologist specializing in social learning differences and a co-author of the SCERTS Assessment Process.
Hindert
on school, a Strategic Partner school in the Ignite Teaching School Alliance have arranged for Emily to return to deliver this 2 day course following the success of Day 1 last year. Emily has inspired teaching staff and we look forward to welcoming her back this year to deliver both Day 1 again and Day 2.
