Introduction to Coaching

This introduction to coaching will equip you with skills to start your coaching practice. The 12 hour (approx) training will be delivered over 1 full day and 3 twilights.

Delivered by Space2Think, this course is ILM accredited.

 This 3 session programme (1 full day and three 3 hour sessions) will prepare you to use coaching effectively to

 Positively impact teaching standards and improved performance management with colleagues

 Empower children and young people to become better learners

 Have focussed conversations that result in benefits and reduced pressure for both people

Facilitator Andy Howie – Andy brings a rich and varied experience, having worked in learning and development originally as a teacher for 13 years. A firm believer in lifelong learning recently completed a Masters in Personal, Professional and Organisational Development. Andy had 7 years’ experience with the University of Chester in their Work Based Learning Department and also worked with a national charity for 5 years, leading and coaching the formation of over 50 local parent support projects and for 3 years developed and ran a peer assessor development programme in organisational standards. Andy is a graduate in Sports Science and has a good understanding of psychological and physiological factors of performance. Also qualified in counselling skills and group-work Andy co-designed and delivered Developing Resilience workshops for ACEVO and worked with 3rd sector CEO’s and senior staff in 2008/09. Has been involved in coaching, management and leadership development since 1993 and coaching individuals and teams throughout his 35 year career.
